UPCOMING DATES

Booster Club Meeting – Monday April 13, 2009 at 6:30pm in the Senior Lunchroom at Grissom High School.  We will be making plans for the 2009-2010 season and we need your participation!  This is a meeting for ALL wrestling parents... not just officers or chairpersons.  We would like to see all of you there!  This meeting will give you the opportunity to sign up for volunteer opportunities for the upcoming season so be thinking of what you would like to participate in and come to the meeting with pen in hand!

Practices VI MOH - Coach Dasaro would like to see all of the wrestlers going to VI MOH work outs.  There is NO cost for Grissom wrestlers to attend these workouts.  Your booster club is covering this cost so all Grissom wrestlers have access to this practice opportunity.  This is for practice only and only for current Grissom wrestlers.  If you plan on participating in any tournament or competing as part of the club, you need to work these costs out with the coach of the club.  They are keeping attendance records and Coach Dasaro is expecting all Grissom wrestlers to be attending at least one work out per week, preferably more.  Practices are held in the Tiger’s Den on South Memorial Parkway on Mon, Tues, and Thurs from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.

Rummage Sale - We will hold our first, and possibly annual, rummage sale on the morning of Saturday, May 9.  I know not everyone can come on that day, however, we need everyone who can to help.  There will be sign up sheets at the Booster Club meeting and we will post a schedule for volunteers on the web site for anyone who is not at the meeting.  Please be getting your junk out and asking friends, family and neighbors to save their junk until May 9th so we have lots to sell!  More information at the booster club meeting.

TEAM CAMP - Please remember that summer Team Camp is coming up July 19-23 in Midgeville, GA.  All deposits are due to Patty Sykstus by May 15th at the latest.  Deposits are $100 and checks should be made out to “Tiger Style Wrestling Camp” NOT Grissom Wrestling.  If you write a check it will not be mailed until after May 15th.  The balance of $280 will be due at registration at the camp and must be cash or money order, they will not accept personal checks.  From what we have been told, this will be a more disciplined  camp than in the past couple of years and less horseplay will be tolerated if that is a factor is your decision in allowing your son to attend camp.  Please mail your registration form and deposit check to me at your earliest convenience – my address is Patty Sykstus  711 Marina Park Drive, 35803.  We will also be collecting registration forms and deposits at the booster club meeting.  We will have additional registration forms at that time. They will also be available on the website soon, so check back.
